Dr Currie is a Master Trainer and Quality Assurance Consultant for the training, delivery, and monitoring of Aggression Replacement Training (ART) in Australia. He has delivered professional training in ART throughout Australia, including Queensland Dept. of Communities- Youth Justice, and he is currently overseeing the Quality Assurance and implementation of the program across that State. In 2009, he developed Agents of Change Training- the behaviour change group work program for the Victorian Dept. of Justice, Gain Respect and Increase Personal Power (GRIPP) program. Dr Currie’s clinical interests are in adolescent and early-adult development and he has wide-ranging practice and research experience in working with young people in mental health and youth justice service settings. Currently, he works part-time as a clinical psychologist in Sydney with headspace, the Australian national youth mental health service, and as a part-time educator at The Australian College of Applied Psychology. His research has been published in peer reviewed journals and he has presented his work at national and international conferences. Dr Currie was nominated for the 2006 Victorian Dept. of Justice- Crime Prevention Awards for his work in delivering ART at Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre and more recently he was a finalist in the Victorian Community Corrections Awards 2010 for delivery of ART at the youth unit located within Port Phillip maximum security prison in Melbourne.
